FTA:

“I’ve written dozens of books and hundreds or thousands of articles, columns and blogs about PCs and Windows. Along the way, I’ve earned the unending enmity of plenty of Mac folks.”

This guy absolutely reviled everything about Apple and OSX, until he actually tried using it. At which point he concluded:

“Overall, though, Mac OS X beats Windows. There, I’ve said it. And lightning hasn’t struck me yet.”

Talk about eating your words!

His previous article two weeks ago entitled Five reasons why Vista beats Mac OS X was (unsurprisingly) made without ever having used OSX. Funny that, I find many people who have never even used the OS telling me how terrible it is. I really hope 7 doesn’t let you down!

  1. Chris Eckl says:

I have changed to a MBA and the only things I’m missing is a decent Outlook client. Entourage certainly doesn’t cut it! May need to go back to my Dell that is now Windows 7 … Very tempting …

    • Hi Chris. I’ve tried Entourage and wasn’t impressed with it either to be fair. Have you tried Open or Neo Office? The next version of OSX, Snow Leopard, will include native MS Exchange support, so perhaps things will improve there. Windows 7 does look like a big improvement, but then so did Longhorn beta…

Glad you went for the MBA on the whole, or not?

  2. Holy crap! I think he should be made to eat those books.

At least Mac people tend to have (generally speaking) used Windows, become disillusioned and move over to OS with a good knowledge of both. This tool has not only failed to understand both systems, but on the back of that misinformed however many people read his uninformed tirades.

Nice one – you complete tool.

  3. I’ve been forced to use Windows XP at work for the past four years… how I loathe it.
