Showcase’s old site was looking a bit tired; we needed to bring it to life. Ultimately we wanted to make the browsing experience match the great cinematic experience customers receive when seeing a film at a Showcase Cinema. With an increasing need to communicate with their audience, manage bookings and improve revenue streams digitally, it was our job to re-think and re-launch Showcase’s entire digital presence for a social media and mobile world.
Our solution focused on providing users with a rich media experience. The new website allows users to select films via film posters, watch trailers directly from the site and focus on geo-specific offers. As well as providing user-friendly navigation, the website supports competitions, offers and information about cinema locations and facilities.
We wanted the site to work hard to create new revenue streams for Showcase. That’s why we integrated the new website with movietickets.com to allow users to book films directly from the site, and an intuitive design means that film distributors are able to take over the site for film tie-ins.
In order to give the Showcase team the ability to update the site as and when they wished, we built a comprehensive content management system too.
And finally, we developed a market-leading SEO and Social campaign to run alongside the website redesign, along with a mobile and app development strategy.
Within the first 24 hours of the website launch, page views doubled. And since the launch in April, our SEO and Social campaign has led to over 196,985 Facebook likes and 2,977 twitter followers. How about year-on-year stats? Well:
- 44.90% increase in website views
- The number of pages viewed is up 33.93%
- Duration spent on the site is up 61.47%
- And the bounce rate is down by 21.97%
Top industry publication, the NMA, nominated the Showcase site as their website of the week and the Drum sang its praises too.
