Introducing Harshad Patel: developer and shopping addict

It’s been nearly been a week since I joined Bloom and I’ve been given a chance to introduce myself. So, here’s the first of what I hope will be many blog posts written by me, Harshad Patel.

Harshad loves a good brick wall

I graduated with a degree in Interactive Media from The University of Huddersfield nearly ten years ago now – I feel ancient saying that! I’ve been very lucky since leaving university and have worked for some wonderful companies in Leeds and Huddersfield.

Before Bloom I was at MadeByPi up in Roundhay where I did a mixture of front end development and testing. In my five years there I learnt a lot of skills, a lot about the industry and a lot about people. I’ll certainly miss my ex-colleagues.

However, I’ve not always worked in the marketing arena. Prior to Pi I worked in web design and print – dabbling in logo and banner design and also working for Bradford and Keighley Youth parliament.

And now here I am at booming Bloom, it’s only been a few days since I joined but already I am getting to know the wonderful people that work here – everyone’s been incredibly friendly. So far I’ve been involved in a few meetings, and I’ve also been getting to know the systems and practices used at Bloom. The first week has been a bit of whirlwind as I take it all in, but I am getting there.

It’s also my first experiences of working in the city centre of anywhere, and the very first thing I did at lunchtime on the first day which was to pop into town and get myself a bag. I hope working so close to the shops doesn’t become my undoing!

I look forward now to embracing the challenges that will come my way here at Bloom. I’m very sure I will be in for some challenging times too, but it’s all part and parcel of working in a digital agency. Bring it on!
