From Data to Art: Whisper at the Royal Society
We’re really, really excited to announce that a visualisation created by our earned media planning tool, Whisper, is on show at the Royal Society’s annual Summer Science Exhibition. The image, which was a runner up in the infographic category of the ‘Picturing Science’ competition, will be shown in the Royal Society’s gardens until the 7th July.
The competition recognised outstanding images of scientific research created by fellows of the Royal Society. It sought interesting or unusual images from research, scientific breakthroughs, laboratories or field trips. The image from Whisper was submitted by Professor Des Higham. Professor Higham is a Royal Society fellow and one of our close university collaborators from the University of Strathclyde.
Commenting on the exhibition Alex Craven, our CEO said: “It is great to see the hard work our data team put into developing our social media tool, Whisper, recognised in this way. We set out to build a really effective real time social media monitoring tool, who knew it would end up as art!”
Amanda Otley, Numerical Analyst, and Rebecca Edwards, Marketing and Brand Manager, visited the exhibition earlier this week during an exclusive sneak-peak tour for competition winners. They were also among the first to experience the rest of this year’s Summer Science Exhibition, which showcases the most cutting-edge science and technology research and provides a unique opportunity for members of the public to interact with scientists and ask them questions about their work.
